Chevy Express Transmission Problems in Sacramento

What's wrong with my Chevy Express transmission?

The 2024 Chevy Express, and previous model years of the van, is offered in several configurations, including the Chevy Express Cargo, the Chevy Express Passenger and the Chevy Express Cutaway, each of which is designed to serve a specific purpose. Previously, the 8-speed automatic transmission tagged with RPO code M5U was paired with the naturally aspirated 4.3L V6 LV1 gasoline engine rated at 276 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and 298 pound-feet of torque at 3,900 rpm.

Meanwhile, the 6-speed heavy-duty automatic transmission tagged with RPO code MYD was formerly paired with the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine, which develops 401 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and 464 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm

Frequently, Express owners complain of:

Hard shifting – owners claim that the vehicle shifts so rough that it almost feels like they have purchased a used vehicle rather than new.

Trouble downshifting – many buyers purchased the Express to use for towing or carrying multiple passengers, which implies a heavy load.

Sudden jerking – newer vehicle owners have complained about this issue, especially when the vehicle is cold first thing in the morning. The jerking has even effected some Escalades with low mileage.

If you live in Sacramento and are having these problems with your Chevy Express van, bring it into our shop and let us determine exactly what's going on. We can get your transmission fixed and put you back on the road!
